The Light on Spoilers, Heavy on Squee Preview of Supernatural 10x11 "There's No Place Like Home"

Oh heys! We're back for another preview! Only feels like yesterday I wrote my review of last week's ep...WAIT! Ooops, it was. I was a tad late!

Anyhoo...Here we are ep 2 after the midseason hiatus and let's see what's in store for us!

Sam told Dean he had COURAGE and HEART, because Sam has BRAINS.
(See what I did there... huh? Huh?)

Okay, what Sam really said was, maybe the powerful force needed to control the Mark of Cain could actually be inside Dean. Maybe it's Dean who is the powerful force.

Will we see Dean listening to his brother and learning to control the Mark of Cain? (SAY YES!)

Charlie met Dorothy and went to Oz on an excellent adventure! TRIUMPHANT

Sam... and Dean... and Charlie...OH MY!
(See what I did there...huh? Huh?)

Yep, Charlie Bradbury is back from Oz. But will she be the same person she was when she headed off to the Emerald City? Let's see what the synopsis says!

“There’s No Place Like Home”

CHARLIE RETURNS FROM OZ — Sam is scanning the internet for suspicious paranormal activity and comes across a video of Charlie beating up a district attorney. Dean suspects she’s back from Oz and hunting on her own, assuming the district attorney must have been a demon. When they do find Charlie, they are shocked when she tells them why she really came back from Oz. Phil Sgriccia directed this episode written by Robbie Thompson (#1010). Original airdate 1/27/2015.

Ooooo! That's a pretty intriguing synopsis!

Of course Robbie Thompson wrote this episode...Robbie being the scribe of Charlie! Charlie is Robbie's gal. And the wonderful Phil Sgriccia is directing - so we know we're in for a good ride with these two at the wheel!

There have been a few other things leaked about this episode...mainly that Charlie has bought something back with her from Oz. But what is it? PLEASE DON'T LET IT BE A FLYING MONKEY, I HATE THOSE THINGS?!

Let's check out the promo!

Eeeeeep! What do you think? Do you think it's really Charlie? Or a possessed Charlie? Or a Charlie doppelganger?

To be honest, my biggest take out from this spot is Charlie wrapping her leather clad thighs around Dean's neck. I WANT TO BE HER!

Could Charlie have changed this much? I don't know. I can't imagine why she would come back hating on the Winchesters. LOOK AT THOSE FACES! HOW COULD YOU HATE THOSE FACES! I think there's something not quite Charlie about Charlie!

Let's check out the sneak peek!

Yeah...could Charlie really have changed this much? Is this the new Charlie? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Oh and Dean....and his little "crap" and call out for Sam! I must admit I laughed out loud at that bit. BUT JUST THAT BIT!

The thing is...the promo photos kind of have me freaked out... Here's just two...

I DON'T LIKE THEM! This second one in particular gives me worry! Dean standing so far away... Bloodied knuckles from apparently beating on Charlie (or maybe not Charlie) Was he overcome by the Mark? UGH! I DON'T KNOW AND I NEED TO KNOW!

Now, the CW also released a season 10 promo that has a shot from this episode in it that looks like it's super dooper spoilery. So watch at your own risk...or move on past it and don't press play!

Did you see it? It's quick, but it's in there and I think it gives stuff away... AND THAT'S ALL I'M SAYING!

And here's are some little interviews with Felicia and the boys...which are not spoilery at all!

So what do you think? I love the character of Charlie. I really enjoy her and Felicia is most definitely one of my girl crushes! I also love Robbie Thompson's episodes. They're always filled with heart and plenty of humour and I always like how he writes the boys.

So we're monster of the weeking, but that does not mean that our big bad...the old MoC, won't be making a showing! I feel sure it will...and I hope Dean can control it. *small voice* Please!

I'm intrigued by this one and what happened to Charlie and what the hell is actually going on here! It's all so mysterious! And I need to know! Luckily...we're going to find out very, very soon!

Yay! New Supernatural! Have fun and enjoy the show!

Review - Supernatural 10x10 "The Hunter Games" - There's a Little Monster in All Of Us

And our show is back and all is right with the world!

Yes, hellatus ends and balance is restored to the Universe. At least that’s how it feels to me! How I love having a new episode of Supernatural on my tele. Even when it’s all hurty!

“The Hunter Games” had our baited breaths hanging on it, not knowing what would be happening with Dean after his, err… incident. Happily we picked up pretty soon after the err… event, back in the bunker, full of worries!

“The Hunter Games” was a continued exploration of family and the stories currently surrounding all three of our protagonists (as usual, I’m referring to Sam and Dean as one here, as their focus is currently fused). But as is usually the way, the stories were cleverly interwoven.

I think I’m going to look at each character arc individually and I’ll kick off with Crowley – as that’s how our episode started!

Oh Crowley, please don’t tell me you’re falling for your mother’s crap! Rowena’s manipulations seem so damn obvious to me! But then, I’m not Crowley. Deserted and left in a workhouse. Just wanting to be loved. I don’t think he’s still suffering the side affects of human blood; so much as his touch with humanity, followed by his friendship with Dean has changed Crowley. I think the things that once satisfied him…the power, ruling Hell, torturing, all the badassed stuff we’ve seen him do, just doesn’t seem to hold the same magic for him anymore. It’s all so empty. He looks like he’s going through the motions. He looks damn lonely. And when he’s at the lowest he’s been for probably a couple of centuries, in walks his mam. And she’s playing him like a violin. Plucking at all the right strings!

I have to say I’m troubled that Crowley’s not seeing this happening. I’m troubled that the brilliantly devious Crowley we all know and love is currently MIA. I literally was yelling at him to wise up, because I can’t believe he’d fall for that woman’s garbage! Please tell me he’s not going to fall for her garbage…wanting to be loved or otherwise.

I adore Crowley – even though I know I shouldn’t – I do, and I feel horrible for him right now. The way he perked up when Not Moose rang him. And the way he rushed off to meet the only two people who he likes and cares for… Oh gosh, the Winchester’s and Crowley’s relationship is all sorts of mixed up! Ha! And it looks like he’s onboard with helping Dean. I guess erasing the Mark of Cain and stopping the possibility of Demon Dean making a come back, First Blade in hand, is in his and all his demon minion’s best interest, but I also thought it looked like he got some pleasure out of helping his old howling at the moon buddy. Maybe he felt useful, wanted, needed again. Anyway, I do feel sorry for Crowley and I hope he’s going to get his head out of his royal butt and see Rowena for what she really is, a conniving witch, before she does whatever it is that she’s planning on doing!

And what on earth is that? Take over Hell? I have no clue what that woman’s plans are, and I like it! I’m watching her through squinty, suspicious eyes going, “What are you up to, woman!” She’s an interesting character and her relationship with Crowley is something we’ve not seen before. We’ve not seen a mother/son relationship on this show. Not for our main characters anyway. We’ve certainly seen motherly vibed relationships, but not an actual mother in the picture. And Rowena is a complete mother of a mother!

I need to say though, there were a couple of times I found Rowena so over the top in this episode that she felt like a parody. I’d like to see that performance dialled back a notch. I think Ruth and Mark have great chemistry, but Mark is so subtle with his scenery chewing that at times Ruth felt very, very large in relation to him, and there were occasions where I found that a little jarring. I think that’s why I was like “COME ON CROWLEY! YOU CAN’T BE FALLING FOR THIS!” But I am enjoying the mystery surrounding the character of Rowena, she’s fun to watch, and I’m totally fascinated to see what devilish tricks she has up her sleeve! She knows about the Winchesters, she knows about The First Blade, she knows where Crowley’s stashed his bones! Not one of those things is good!

Then we had Cas torn between his two families. The Winchesters and Claire. I loved it when Claire told Cas how she was feeling in that hotel room, because seriously, I can’t think of much worse than an entity trying to ingratiate himself into your life whilst wearing your dead father’s body. Having your dad there but not there. Seeing your dad and knowing it’s not him…and knowing he’s no longer here because of the thing that is now inside his shell. Ugh. It’s totally horrible. I know Cas means well, but it’s just not well thought out! I do appreciate the hell out of him trying though, because he does always try, he may not do the right thing, but like a couple of other people we know, he does try and he really wants to try and make amends and help Claire stay out of trouble.

I like Claire, she's a glaring reminder of the consequences of the supernatural. We don’t often get to see the aftermath of what happens when Cas or the brothers blow in and out of people’s lives. But here’s Claire, her life devastated by a supernatural act perpetrated against someone she loved, all in the name of that old chestnut, the greater good. I hope at some stage we see her again. Her story in this week’s episode was a reflection of what all our characters are going through, or have gone through; struggling with the monster that lies within. She’s self destructive and angry and it’s causing her to make poor choices. But when push shoved, she couldn’t go through with having Dean killed, that’s not who she is or who she wants to be and seeing that seemed to release a little of the anger inside her. I personally feel that she should stay as far away from Cas and the Winchesters as possibly! Frankly, I think she’s probably safer out there trying to make it on her own!

Cas of course, is a different being now. I don’t believe he would take the same path if faced with taking a vessel, regardless of the need. Just as now, he is looking for a way to help Dean with the Mark of Cain, as opposed to honouring his promise. Once upon a time I think things would have been different, but until there is no other way, until he sees his friend is lost to the dark side, Cas is going to do what he can to help Dean – including getting Metatron out of the slammer!

I’m not entirely sure why the team thought Metatron would play along? What was in it for him except a thank you and an eternity in prison! Oh Metatron. I hate you. But I love you. I love to hate you. Curtis Armstrong’s Metatron is so foul…so completely foul. What a nasty little thing he is. He’s fantastic. The whole scene with goading Dean to go deeper, darker was all very Star Wars! “Give yourself to the Dark Side”. “Anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering” The angrier you get, the more the Dark Side takes control – or in Dean’s case, The Mark of Cain.

Beating the snot out of Metatron, just makes Dean’s fury burn more intensely and the more often he gives in to the MoC, the less of Dean remains. Metatron did give the boys a couple of things though – they need the First Blade (we assume he wasn’t lying) and “The river ends at the source”. The later was enough of a thing that it had Dean remembering it and pondering what it could mean. I think most of us assume that the source means Cain. For Dean the source of the Mark of Cain is Cain himself. Even though he’s not the original source, that being God, Cain was the source for Dean. So I think the answer has something to do with Cain and the Blade and maybe putting the Blade into Cain. Unless it is God and Chuck comes and removes it from Dean’s arm! OMG I NEED TO WRITE THIS BECAUSE, YES!!!

Of course, the other scenario with the Mark is that, Dean learns to live with it. I was batting that idea around twitter earlier in the week and was met with a lot of people not believing Dean was capable of that, or at least not for any relevant amount of time. But I’m with Sam; I believe Dean might be a powerful enough force that he could control the negative affects of the Mark. Maybe Dean has that within him. I guess I just believe enough in this character to believe he does. And I guess that means I’m now on to the brothers!

I’m falling more and more in love with Sam every episode. Of course I’ve always been in love with Sam, but this season, he’s just even more awesome than he usually is! I appreciate the stand he is taking with Dean. He’s not pushing him. He’s not forcing Dean into a corner and he’s not judging him – the last thing being very important right now. He's being smart, smart, smart! He’s being honest with Dean about what he thinks and Dean is repaying him with being honest in return. They are talking about this stuff – and I love it!

The fact that Sam has become Dean’s anchor once again is so wonderful to watch. He just has to lay his hand on Dean’s shoulder and it calms Dean. He just has to say Dean’s name and it clears Dean’s mind. I feel like Sam is standing a little taller somehow – if that is even possible – because his brother needs him and is leaning on him and is letting Sam help him. Dean is turning to Sam, and right now it’s Sam who feels like the big brother.

Of course we’ve seen a back and forth like this in their relationship before, but not for a while. The way the brother’s are interacting with each other now makes me cry tears of joy, because this is how I love them – being there for each other, supporting each other, relying on each other, being open with each other.

I’ve spoken about how the about face this season is so perfect because it allows each brother to walk in the other’s shoes. Dean – the one never touched by the supernatural – is now facing going down a path of darkness, just as his brother has had to face in the past; being cursed by demon blood and all that brought along with it. Sam – the one who has come to believe that the consequences of an action outweigh personal need, is now faced with deciding how far he will go to stop his brother becoming a monster. There’s been some storylines teased about this very thing coming up for Sam, but I think we’ve already seen this starting to occur. Dean has become his main priority and the dead folk in Dean’s wake? Well for now, Sam’s just focused on Dean. I’m sure Sam is going to come face to face with what he believes he would or wouldn’t do, and what he finds he will actually do to save his brother. Like, I don’t believe in the death penalty, and if I lost a loved one in a violent act I dearly hope I would still feel the same way – but I don’t know, because I haven’t experienced that (not that we have the death penalty here.) Sam has always believed (or at least has articulated recently) that the end does not always justify the means, but will he be able to stay true to this belief, or will he decide that when faced with losing his brother for good, all bets are off. How far will Sam go to save Dean? That both brothers have had to walk this road is so damn delicious.

For now though, Sam is the voice of reason, support, love and calm in Dean’s growing more and more chaotic and violent world, and every time I see the affect his voice or his touch has on Dean I want to hug my TV (because Sam’s inside it)! He is everything that Dean needs (now and always) and any thought that his brother might not love him as much as he loves his brother, for Dean, has to be gone. *Sigh*

Dean. Man, he is heart breaking. Lost and scared, as this rage bubbles away inside him. Suppressing the Mark to the point where he is oddly calm. He just looks frightened all the time, except when he’s pounding into someone, and that high-pitched drone starts up in his ears as he loses himself to the Mark. He's killing me! My boy is killing me.... *wibble*

Dean has always had darkness inside him riding along side the good. Sure, he’s a great big hero, but he’s also done some pretty dark things. Whether admitting to enjoying torturing souls in Hell, or torturing the demon Alistair, or the purity of killing in Purgatory, Dean’s darkness has often existed just below the surface. There’s often a sense with Dean that he could simply explode. So when Sam said to Dean that maybe there’s a part of Dean that wants to give in to the Mark of Cain, I think he may have hit on something. Beating down on Metatron for example. Sure, the dickwad deserved it. For everything he did to Cas, Kevin, Sam, Dean, he deserved it, but having the Mark there on his arm, did that give Dean an excuse to lose control and kill him? Did having the Mark allow him to simply give in to that urge?

Dean does not have the First Blade, and while we saw him changing under the influence of the Mark, it wasn’t really until that First Blade was placed in his hand that the Mark truly took hold of him and made him lose a sense of who he is, and made him lose the last vestiges of control. So maybe, maybe there’s something in what Sam said and maybe, maybe there’s a little bit of Dean’s inherent violence driving the Mark as opposed to it purely being the Mark driving him.

Just hearing this concept, and then hearing how much Sam believes in Dean, in being so powerful that he could overcome the Mark, may be all that's needed to help push Dean onto a more controlled path while the brothers continue to look for a cure. Dean's always had incredible fortitude and heart.

The fact that Sam believes in Dean that much, believes Dean is a powerful force, may be the best thing ever. Seriously, I couldn't love this more! And I think it went a long way to stopping Dean taking out the Natural Born Killers that Claire sic’d on him. In that moment – the Mark starting to hum in his ears – Dean chose not to follow through on what I’m sure every single fibre of his being wanted to do. He chose not to kill. He was strong enough to controlled by the Mark. Dean loves Sam more than anything, and if Sam believes Dean can do it, that will go a long way to helping Dean believe that too.

These brothers. I love them with everything I have.

You know, I always assumed that we’d get rid of the Mark of Cain. I figured it was probably something to do with episode 10x14, which we know features Cain, but now I’m wondering if maybe, just maybe, Dean will have to live with it. Truthfully, I think they’ll get rid of it, but the idea of Dean living with this thing on his arm and being able to control it, because he’s strong enough to control it, powerful enough to control it, and because he and his brother both believe enough in his ability to control it, fills me with squee! I still think it will probably go…but the alternative is exciting and intriguing don’t you think?

I can’t go without talking about how gorgeous this episode was artistically speaking. The wonderful lighting in the bunker dungeon with Dean emerging from the shadows, and then Sam sitting in the light while Dean was permanently shrouded in darkness. The fabulous shot of the brothers walking through the bunker halls talking and then later, the shot of Cas and Sam running down the hall to stop Dean. The amazing crypt set where Crowley’s bones are stashed, and Crowley’s fabulous lair. And of course, the brilliant scene where Rowena’s eyes rolled back in her head and then we whizzed through the sky and the city to spy on Crowley and the boys. That was absolutely breath taking. “The Hunter Games” was a remarkably visual episode.

And I’ve got to mention the hilarious raining in the alley scene! The continuity with the wet hair was a bit all over the place but I’ve never seen any of them look that drenched by rain before! I was laughing…when I wasn’t gasping at how pretty Sam looked all drippy!

Also, John Badham thank you kindly for the stunning close-ups of Dean…stunning. Did I mention stunning?

So we now have the First Blade in play, along with The Mark of Cain, and then there’s mysterious and crafty Rowena manipulating away, and I still have no clue where we’re heading, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I love it! We’re getting so much wonderful character work by our wonderfully talented cast this season. This “more personal” storyline Carver is delivering is the bomb! Give me a good BM over a salt and burn any day!

What were your thoughts on the episode? Let me know! And don’t forget, I’ve started a squee page where you can go and just yell your love for our show and cast from the rooftops, ask a question or start a topic of conversation! I hope to see you there!

Next week the delightful Felicia Day is back and it looks intense! I CAN’T WAIT!

The Light on Spoilers, Heavy on Squee Preview of Supernatural 10x10 "The Hunter Games"

Woohoo! We're back! Hellatus is over and it's time for a new episode! So let's get to it shall we? IT'S PREVIEW TIME!

There was blood and bodies and Dean on his knees and Sammy on his knees and did I mention the blood and the bodies and Dean's face all frightened and confused and broken and Cas looking horrified and Sammy panicking and did I mention Dean's face and and and and WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

*Actual selfie

Okay, so we know the Mark of Cain has reared up and Dean is losing control. And Sam is damn well determined that he's going to save his brother, but he's also scared and beyond worried of what his brother is becoming. And Cas made a promise to Dean that he's not going to want to keep, and he's also trying to make amends to Jimmy's daughter, Claire. But it was Claire's supposed friend that Dean killed...along with a whole bunch of other bad guys...which is errr, awkward! And of course, Crowley is knee deep in evil mummy issues! SO MUCH STUFF!

Let's have a look at the synopsis!

“The Hunter Games”

THE AFTERMATH — After the massacre at the ranch, Dean (Jensen Ackles), Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Castiel (Misha Collins) double their efforts to find a cure for the Mark of Cain but there is nothing in the lore that can help them.  Desperate, Castiel comes up with an idea that Sam deems the “single worst idea I’ve ever heard.”  Meanwhile, Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) continues to plot against Crowley (Mark Sheppard), and Castiel tries to mend his relationship with Claire (guest star Kathryn Love Newton) who is plotting revenge against Dean for killing her friend. John Badham directed this episode written by Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckner (#1011). Original airdate 1/20/2015.

Woohoo John Badham is back! He last directed "First Born", and that ROCKED! Of course he's a massively seasoned director with loads of TV and a bunch of big 80's movies under his belt. It's so awesome to have someone like him working on our show.

Eugenie and Brad last wrote "Soul Survivor", directed by the particularly talented, Jensen Ackles! I used to be squirrelly about Eugenie and Brad's episodes, as there have been a couple of wobbly ones. But they've been right on the money since season 9, and I feel confident they'll nail this one too.

So, I'm pretty sure the "single worst idea" Sam's ever heard is sitting right in front of Sam and Dean! Which makes me think that Cas is wondering if the demon tablet has some information about the Mark of Cain and probably Cain himself, which may then give them some clues as to how to cure Dean. Makes sense, right? And one assumes the scribe of God would be able to tell them what's on the tablet...because the tablet is missing in action! BUT WILL HE?! AND WOULD WE TRUST HIM IF HE DID? BECAUSE REMEMBER....HE KILLED DEAN! Oh, sorry, I got all yelly...that happens when I think of Metatron!

Anyway before I combust in a he killed Dean fury, let's look at the promos! Remembering that these promos have clips from 10x10 and 10x11 (which don't forget, were shot in reverse order to how they appear in the schedule).

Like I said, these promos cover more than one episode. So it's not clear what is specifically what - episodically speaking (except for the Felicia stuff...that's next week)!

But one thing jumps out at me...

"We will fix it" "WE WILL FIX IT" "WE WILL FIX THIS"

*Actual selfie

We also got a particularly painful sneak peek. And for the first time ever...a sneak peek made me burst into tears!

OH.MY.GOD. Could Dean get any more sad and broken?! His face when he talks about a time when he was a hunter, not a stone cold killer. Seriously, I burst into tears. This Ackles fellow needs to stop doing this to me! Remind me to tell him! (Though last time I told him...he kinda laughed at my pain! Before reassuring me that it would be all okay...but I'm pretty sure he was still chuckling! Damn him and his awesomeness!)

On the upside...this clip clearly shows that neither Dean's brother nor his friend have any intention of giving up on him. They're not lying to him, or cajoling him....but they're not giving up on him. And they're letting him know that.

Dean has people who love him...and we know he now knows and accepts that. I just hope in his Mark of Cain sadness, he remembers.

Gah! I want the damn thing gone from his arm! Though I can't deny, I'm loving the MoC storyline and how it made a comeback and how that's now playing out! LOVE/HATE. SO TORN! SO SUPERNATURAL!

The other thing we got leading up to this episode, were countdowns starring our people, along with little tiny sneak peeks!

These mini sneak peeks are such a great tease! I really love them.

Crowley's line is great! But you'd expect nothing less from him! And Metatron's line about the kinky chicks! He's got great sass that angel! I love him - when I'm not hating him and wanting to stab him in the brain! I wonder how long the Claire storyline will play out. I'm horrified for her, quite frankly. To have Cas there in her father's body - but it not being her father...that's just awful. Awful. I couldn't stand that. He needs to get her situated and leave her be. Because I think being there, no matter what his good intentions are, would simply be torture for Claire. Also, "dickwad". That's one of my all time favourite words. I use it all the time. I laughed out loud when Sam said dickwad!

So we most definitely get a little something from all the players this week.  Kicking off all the story lines for the back half of the season. I keep wondering how everyone is going to intersect...because they always do. I'm wondering if maybe Crowley realises his mum needs to go, and turns to his BFFs, Moose and Squirrel to help get rid of her. Maybe Rowena goes nuclear and the boys go after her. I mean, they know she's out there....they just don't know who she really is! That's going to blow their minds! And also, they're a bit preoccupied right now with Dean's tattoo regret... But once that's sorted (10x14 are we thinking?), it'll be on to the next thing! I have zero idea where Cas' storyline might be going! Anyone got any guesses? And of course, Cole is still out there and will be back in the picture in a few eps...I wonder where his storyline is going? I like Cole.

I love this sense of mystery, this not knowing what's coming next. I love that there's no obvious big bad that we all know is going to culminate in a big showdown in the last few episodes of the seaons (unless that turns out to be Rowenna). If find this season so intriguing. And it gives us the luxury of spending time with our characters. And seeing as I love each and every one of them, for me, that's time well spent.

I can not wait for this episode. I need my show back!

It's nearly here, guys! Let me know what you think!

SPOILERS SWEETIES! Official Synopsis Supernatural 10x12 "About A Boy"

"Bad Boys" was one of my favourite episodes of Season 9. I pretty much wrote a damn love letter to it when I reviewed it! I loved everything about discovering this previously unknown part of Dean's life. And I loved everything about Sam discovering a little bit of Dean he never knew. The whole thing was so gorgeous I exploded in sea of feels! I love "Bad Boy"s...so I'm eagerly anticipating another episode with Junior Dean!

Here's the synopsis!

DEAN IS TURNED INTO HIS 14 YEAR OLD SELF — Looking to get Dean (Jensen Ackles) out of the bunker, Sam (Jared Padalecki) finds a case for him and Dean to investigate – people are disappearing into thin air with only their clothes left behind. Sam and Dean suspect fairies or angels, but the truth turns out to be much more shocking – Hansel (guest star Mark Acheson), from Hansel and Gretel lore, is kidnapping people and turning them into their younger selves to placate the evil witch (guest star Lesley Nicol). Unfortunately, Dean finds this information out the hard way after he becomes Hansel’s next victim and reverts to his 14 year old self. Serge Ladouceur directed this episode written by Adam Glass (#1011). Original airdate 2/3/2015.

So what I'm wondering is this truly 14 year old Dean or 36 year old Dean in 14 year old Dean's body? I'm thinking actual 14 year old Dean from the synopsis, but maybe not! Either way is going to be fun and very cool. Dylan Everett basically channelled Jensen Ackles when we last saw him as Dean. And I really hope Sam gets to talk to this young Dean. I really hope that...like a lot!

Also, it sounds like Dean is scared to leave the bunker with that pesky MoC causing havoc for him. Which makes me so, so sad. The MoC storyline is playing out so beautifully don't you think? From season 9, now into 10, and how we're seeing this reveal of what it's doing to Dean and how that's affecting him - and consequently affecting Sam. Sam becoming uber fight for your bro Sam. I LOVE HIM!

Do you think Junior Dean is going to stuff the bad guy in the oven? Hey, is this the show's first foray into fairy tales? Apart from "Bedtime Stories" - which was a book coming to life. And not counting The Wizard of Oz, because that's not a fairy tale. But I don't think they've ever had a fairy tale character actually be lore have they? This is going to blow the brothers' minds!

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to another episode with Dylan Everett as young Dean Winchester?

Let me know!

SPOILERS SWEETIES! Promo photos from Supernatural 10x10 "The Hunter Games"

It's just one week until the end of our midseason hellatus! Praise be to Chuck! After last seeing Dean on his knees, surrounded by the bodies of the men he just massacred and Sam on his knees, holding Dean's face desperately wanting, hoping, that it wasn't what it looked like...WELL...this has been another torturous hellatus! But then again, aren't they all!

But now a week out from the new episode, we get promo pics!

Let's check them out!

BUT BEWARE...AHEAD BE SPOILERS!! (And random commentary)

OHHHHHHHHHH Look at him! He's so sad and worried and he looks all alone and
A-WAHHHHHHHHHHH! I wants to hold him and tell him it will all be okay!

"Even though Dean was feeling bad after killing all those people in a furious Cain fueled rage, he still had time for some shopping. Dean knows a little retail therapy always helps when you're feeling blue and murderous. To offset his particularly dark mood, Dean picked out this nice brown, green, orange and yellow, plaid shirt/brown t-shirt ensemble. "The orange and yellow makes me think of sunflowers" Dean said"

Sam contemplates whether he and Dean wear too much plaid...while wearing plaid.
He also wonders why Dean didn't invite him shopping.

Well looky here! They've trapped the King of the Nerds! Well, Metatron... Same same.
SO THIS IS PART OF CAS' CRAZY PLAN THAT SAM DIDN'T LIKE THAT MIGHT HELP WITH MARK OF CAIN ANSWERS! Anything that fixes Dean's tattoo regret is good with me.
Also, I kind of love Metatron...WHEN I DON'T WANT TO KILL HIM FOR KILLING MY BOY!

Bet they wished they gagged him too...the dude has an annoyingly, yappy smart mouth!

I LOVE his cable knit cardy!

I like to call this shot....LEGS! Because...well, legs ahoy! I love the way Sammy is sitting on the desk (got to sit him to frame this shot!) and I love the way Dean is standing so firm footed. I also love how the lighting is illuminating Sam. That light is right over him. Beaming down on him. I wonder if that's intentional for some subliminal reason?

Hey Dean, I'm cool with it.

Well I hope he fixes that door when he leaves! Or at least pays to have it repaired! Geesh Cas!

I feel like the boys snatch and grab and the Cas exploding door heroic rescue may be part of this big plan. Are they trying to trick Metatron? What do you think?

Pop him back in prison...or is he now on the loose? GULP! THE GUY IS CRAZYTOWN, WHERE'S HIS STRAIGHT JACKET!
(Randomly wonders if he wore that cable knit cardy under his straight jacket)

Hey Dean, is that an angle blade or are you just happy to.... NEVER MIND!

So Cas' grand plan involves Metatron...I can't wait to find out the details! Because I'm scouring my brain to try and remember if Metatron knew anything about the MoC? Feel free to remind me!

What do you think of these pics and what are your theories? Hit me up in the comments!

Before we go...some folks have something to say...

SUPERNATURAL SEASON 11 - CONFETTI IT'S A PARADE! Plus, we're moving nights!

That's just.... I mean, I remember sweating over this show year after year. I remember hoping we'd go beyond 5 and celebrating when we got a 6th season! And here we are at Season 11.

I mean, 11!!!!!

In addition to Supernatural's renewal, the CW renewed all its Fall shows.

This is definitely one of the strongest lineups the CW has had in a very long time!

Here is the official press release:

FOR 2015-2016 SEASON

Network Orders Additional Season for All Scripted Series on Its Fall 2014 Schedule

More Proven Original Series Throughout the Year,

Including Fall 2015, Midseason 2016, and Summer 2016

January 11, 2015 (Pasadena, CA) — The CW Network has picked up eight of its current series for the 2015-2016 season, it was announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW, during the network’s session at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena. In essence, The CW picked up all of the scripted series from its Fall 2014 schedule to next season.

“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” said Pedowitz. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 line-ups.”

The series being ordered for the 2015-2016 season include ARROW (Season 4), JANE THE VIRGIN (Season 2), REIGN (Season 3), SUPERNATURAL (Season 11), THE 100 (Season 3), THE FLASH (Season 2), THE ORIGINALS (Season 3), and THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (Season 7). Specific premiere dates for each series will be announced at a later time.

The other news in Supernatural land is that we will be moving back to Wednesday nights as of March 18.

iZombie will go into the 9pm Tuesday slot after The Flash, giving iZombie the best starting position off the back of the network's number 1 show.

Supernatural will return to 9pm Wednesday after Arrow. Arrow and Supernatural have already proven that they are a match made in ratings Heaven. This pairing will surely give the CW a very strong Wednesday night, and I would think they'd be hoping that the Flash/iZombie pairing would give them an equally strong Tuesday night - giving the network a Tuesday/Wednesday double hitter!

It also speaks to the network's confidence in Supernatural, that they would move it midseason without fear of losing audience - in fact, I think they probably hope for the kind of strong Wednesday numbers they were getting during the first season of Arrow, when it was leadin for Supernatural.

But whatevs... because! SEASON 11!

And Jensen seems tickled about it... LET'S KEEP IT GOING! Bless his heart!

And a little something from the inimitable Robbie Thompson...

Here are some tweets from the TCA's that relate to Supernatural. Supernatural was not in attendance this year

And here's more from the Pres of the CW, Mark Pedowitz, regarding another possible spin off, via KsiteTV:

"I've been pretty outspoken in wanting another Supernatural spin-off. It is really in Jeremy Carver and Eric Kripke and Bob Singer's court what is the best idea. They've been busy working on the show this year. Obviously it didn't come together, but we are completely open at looking at a spin-off. And hopefully next year, since we've just renewed the show, they will come up with something that we can use,"

"I'm very happy with how Supernatural has done, and God bless them. They keep going and they go strong,"

Let me finish by saying...

(more news from the TCAs to come!)
