ACTION ACKLES!
It's that time of the season again, where Jensen steps behind the camera! Yep, this week's episode is directed by Action Ackles!
This will be Jensen's 5th episode he's directed, having directed, 6x04 "A Weekend At Bobby's", 7x03 "The Girl Next Door", 8x03 "Heartache" and 10x03 "Soul Survivor" He didn't direct an episode in season 9 as he had just become a daddy and chose to spend longer at home with his family, rather than head back to work a couple of week's early to prep, which is what he has to do when he directs.
A point of interest, 2 of Jensen's episodes were written by Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin (Dan is no longer with the show) and 3 of his episodes, including this latest one, were written by Brad Buckner and Eugenie Ross-Leming.
THEN
Sam figured out how to cure the weird rabid thing caused by the crazy black fart whilst having some trippy hellesque visions. He was also heartbreaking and incredibly smart.
Dean figured out that the baby Amara was The Darkness when he saw the teen weeny Mark of Cain. He was also super adorable and incredibly hot.
Crowley turned up the creep and lured the now pre-teen Amara into his van on the promise of souls.
Billie the new reaper explained that the boys can now die (eeep!), and when they do, she's gunna toss them into something called The Empty, and neither of those things sound good.
Cas made it back to the bunker for help.
Jenna died, Granny died, Psoriasis Angel died, Sidekick Angel died, Hannah died.
The boys are HOME and they have some cleaning up to do!
Yep the boys made it back to the bunker, hooray! And they found Cas waiting, all attack dog spelly. Can the brother's help their angel buddy? Let's see what the synopsis says!

JENSEN ACKLES DIRECTS — While Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell) tries to consolidate her power to protect herself from the Winchesters, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) search for a missing baby connected to the Darkness. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) struggles to heal and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) tries to find a way to use the Darkness for his own personal gain. Jensen Ackles directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#1103).
So this episode was shot first in the season to allow Jensen to do his prep prior to the season kicking off. There were quite a few spoiler photos around from shooting as some scenes were shot in downtown Vancouver. Some involved Jensen (and Jensen's stunt double, Todd) in a crazy shirt and hat ensemble! So that's going to be interesting! At least Dean's changed out of the murder shirt!
Once again we've got all our major players in this episode, and we also get to see Rowena for the first time since she set Cas on Crowley and shot through with the Book of the Damned and accompanying Codex!
Anyway, let's see if the promo and see if it tells us anything!
Hmmm. Bad promo is bad.
So Cas, all attack doggy, gets out of the bunker (they really should've locked him up) and attack dogs some girl. Pretty sure he attack dogs Dean too...because Dean's all bloody in this promo, as he runs to the girl's aide... also...

Amara is binging on souls...I think Crowley's going to be in a spot of bother with that little girl! She's so damn creepy. And Sam nabs a badly wigged Rowena. IT LOOKS ACTION PACKED! And it looks like fun!
How about the sneak peek? It's a nice long one!
This is such a cool show. This is such a cool scene. What nice words. The whole bit around the absent God. Dean and Cas so pissed. Sam hopeful still, that he's out there - maybe attributing last week's weird torture visions to that sign he asked God for, even though he doesn't know what it means. I love this show.
I'm excited by the talk of Metatron, He's certainly who I thought of when this whole Darkness mess started coming to fruition, because he may well be the only person who knows anything about The Darkness as he was so tight with God.
Dean vagueing out there... Just thinking? Thinking about what he was feeling around that baby, and what that meant in relation to what the grow'd up Darkness said to him in the meadow. I wonder when he's going to share the information with Sam? I was hoping some of that honesty he was tossing around last season would stick. Maybe it will. The more information they both have between them, the better. GOD DAMN IT, WINCHESTERS... SHARE! Geesh.
I like this scene though.
Here is The Carver's preview. I love these previews! Carver cracks me up in this one.
Uncle Crowley. Ewwwww. That is all levels of creep. And the arogance of him. We know he knows what the Darkness is. I wouldn't be treating her like a small child, not matter what she looks like! Did he buy her like a Barbie Dream House or something?!
I'm excited to see what Jensen does with his latest episode, I always love when he directs, I feel ridiculously proud of him! I hope Jensen has time to live tweet...which will make my work day even more torturous! But I hope he does... his tweets are happiness!
The first two episodes of season 11 were absolute crackers. I can't wait for this one... Then next week it's the Baby episode! Squeeee!
Oh and Dean changed out of the murder shirt! I don't know whether to be happy or sad...I loved that shirt on him...but it represented his murdery feels...but it looked so pretty...but it was probably getting stinky. Mmmmm Dean scent... SO TORN! I wonder if we'll ever see it again...
Enjoy the ep!
