sweetondean's Light on Spoilers, Heavy on Squee Preview of Supernatural 12x16 "Ladies Drink Free"

Anddddddd...we're back (again). After another little hiatus it's time for a new episode! Now, by my calculations, based on the unconfirmed by press release but rumoured finale day, and counting on my fingers a la Dean Winchester, there should be no more breaks... I HOPE!

Anyway...on to this week's preview!

Leylin Vixen's Quick Draw Recap - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell

Opening words

Season 12 feels like a trip to the memory lane to the wide history and lore the show has. I can’t complain because I love it, but also I hope that they are not tying up loose ends because they have the series end in sight! Whatever the reason is I am enjoying the hell out of it. In the newest episode we got some new lore about Lucifer and Hellhounds and also a glance at Winchesters wearing eyeglasses. That's always a plus in my book. Also how awesome it is that Crowley has balls of steel! He totally played Lucifer. Also we heard a familiar name we haven’t heard oh… for 7 seasons! I wonder will we see the same actor to play Joshua.

But for now, let’s get on with the show!

Supernatural Think Tank - Anna's Thinky Thoughts on 12x15 "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell"

I want to just take this opportunity to express how much I adored the end scene between Sam and Dean.  I love watching how far they've come in their relationship and seeing how much each has matured and changed, yet at the very heart they are both still the same. Glorious.

I'm going to start out by saying that I simply cherished the fact that Sam had been lying to Dean at the beginning of the episode.  I know you must be thinking 😵.  Why the hell would Sam lying to Dean be something one should cherish?  Well, I'm glad you asked.  The way I see it, despite the whole ongoing debate about each brother being capable of making their own decisions regardless of whether or not the other agrees, I still adore the fact that the boys, in this particular case Sam, do give a damn what the other brother thinks.  You see, no matter what, they still each value the other's opinion and that opinion has an impact.  Sam's lying to Dean at the beginning illustrates how much Sam cares about what Dean thinks.   Some people might think, Sam shouldn't give a damn, he should do what he damn well pleases. I do respect that, but I also think that's a concept that is easier said than done. Even when we as children do something our parents didn't want for us, though we make our own choices, we still want that support.  It's natural to want to make those you love proud of you,  to want them to respect your decisions, to have their support.  I'm not saying one should change their decision without that support, I'm just saying that I think embarking on that decision would be an easier journey if one had it from the ones they desired  it from the most.    If Sam didn't want or care about Dean's opinion, he simply would've flat out told him what he was doing and it wouldn't matter what Dean thought one way or the other.  He didn't though.  He tricked Dean by telling him that he was getting cases from an algorithm app on his phone...the computer was telling them where to go.

Review - Supernatural 12x15 "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell" - by sweetondean

Grown up Winchesters are my favourite thing. Or maybe it’s grown up Winchesters who can still tease each other and act like five year olds. Or maybe it’s grown up Winchesters who can still tease each other, act like five year olds, and trust each other 100%. Yeah. Maybe it’s that, that’s my favourite thing.

Season 12 has been full of wonderful broments - from the moving, to the hilarious, to the fist pumping unity, and “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell” by Davy Perez, who is fast becoming a favourite writer of mine, was stuffed with more perfect Sam and Dean gems. The Winchester brothers are in a solid place, which makes my heart happy, and it’s because of this solid place that all these wonderful scenes can unfold.

Dean Winchester loves a good hunt. There’s no doubt about this, and it’s not because he’s a killer like Ketch, but because he’s good at it, it’s where he feels most purposeful, it’s where he’s knows he’s doing good. He likes saving people, in his most trying times, hunting gives him peace in his life and he turns to it and throws himself into it with gusto, especially whenever he’s feeling like his footing is unsure… and fighting next to his brother…if Sam and Dean are shoulder to shoulder in battle, Dean could live with doing that forever.

Leylin Vixen's Quick Draw Recap - The Raid

The Raid

Opening words

Wow! How cool was this episode? It had suspense, emotional impact and a drive to a very deep and speculative story. Where this season is heading? Many speculate that we will have some HUGE surprises coming our way. So, will they be as usual that we will be yelling on our TV screen while cursing the writers even though we love them? Will the SPN fandom be a pile of goo after the finale? I will not lie. Like Han Solo said: “I have a bad feeling about this” is an understatement. I am pretty sure the kick to our gut is coming but from where and how is still a mystery.

But for now, let’s get on with the show!

Supernatural Think Tank - Anna's Thinky Thoughts on Supernatural 12x14 "The Raid"

I really am loving Season 12.  I love the fact that halfway into the season I still have no idea what the hell is truly going on.  The mystery of the season has me intrigued and wanting more.  That's what a successful show does, it leaves you wanting more.

This episode was fun in that by the time it ended, I was so full of theories that I couldn't choose which one seemed the most likely.  Don't you just love that...when an episode just leaves you in a tailspin and you just can't decide what to believe might actually happen next.😵   I am so digging the myriad of possibilities right now and I'm just so excited to get to use the word...myriad. 😬  I really loved everything about this episode.  From beginning to end, it was emotional, exciting, confusing, nostalgic, intriguing and so much more.  Everyone did a fantastic job.  I could go on and on with compliments, but I fear if I do that I'll lose my audience.  So I'm going to just praise the awesomeness that is Jared and Jensen.  They are constantly putting me in a state of wonder as to how they have not been bestowed an Emmy for their amazing performances in most every episode. 😮  The guests were fantastic as well.  Wonderful performances by all.

Review: Supernatural 12x14 “The Raid” - by sweetondean

This week’s Supernatural was a tour de force of character driven moments, alongside some pretty damn cool action. I liked “The Raid” a lot for these reasons, and because, once again, we are left with so many questions, which because we are who we are, sprouts so many theories! At this stage of the season, we usually have some inkling where it’s all going to go and how it’s going intersect, but right now I don’t! My assumption is we’ll have to deal with Lucifer and his Nephilim spawn, and maybe the British Men of Letters will be involved with that alongside the Winchesters, except that I have a distinct feeling that the brothers’ relationship with Mick, Ketch and sundry is not going to be a match made in hunter heaven! So it’s all a great big mystery and I’m loving that aspect of season 12.

I adored that we picked up the episode right where we left off with Mary, Sam and Dean - the three of them in the bunker locked in vehement disagreement over Mary’s decision to join forces with the British Men of Letters. In last week’s episode as Dean stood at Sam’s shoulder, Sam spoke on the brothers’ behalf, relaying their confusing as to why Mary would hunt with the assclowns who hurt both her sons. This time it was Dean speaking for the brothers, explaining to their mother why this whole thing sucks ass! The scene was magnificent, as it played out before the titles and then in flash back through Mary’s memory. It was magnificent and heart breaking. Heart breaking to hear Dean articulate what we all know - they lived their life without her and they pined for what they missed - he didn’t have to say those words, for those words to be heard.

Leylin Vixen's Quick Draw Recap - Family Feud

Opening words

Alright, there was a lot happening in this episode maybe too much. I felt dizzy with all the plots and a lot felt little disjointed and something was missing. Why was all of it piled to one episode? Who knows. This episode was not to my liking that much but it had some redeeming qualities. Hopefully also those parts shine outwards from this recap.

So let’s get to it, shall we?
