Yep! they're back! Please don't kill them, Show...they're too pretty!

Here's the synopsis!

12x20 - TWIGS & TWINE & TASHA BANES

RICHARD SPEIGHT, JR. DIRECTS – Alicia Banes (guest star Kara Royster) calls Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) for help after her mother, Tasha (guest star Alvina August), goes missing. Sam (Jared Padalecki) answers Mary’s phone and he and Dean (Jensen Ackles) head out to help Alicia and her twin brother, Max (guest star Kendrick Sampson), find their mother who was hunting a powerful witch. Meanwhile, Mary starts to have some doubts about the British Men of Letters. Richard Speight, Jr. directed the episode written by Steve Yockey (#1220). Original airdate 5/4/2017.

Mr. Richard Speight Jr. is back in the director's chair! SQUEEEEE! This is Rich's second episode of season 12 and his third that he's directed for the series. I'm so excited that Rich has got the chance to direct the show. Both of his episodes so far are favourites of mine! I'm looking forward to what he does with this week's ep! This will be Steve Yockey's third episode of the series, having written 12.06 Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox and 12.10 Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets. He created the witch twins!

So the boys get to work together helping the hot witchy twins look for their mum....meanwhile Mary is finally noticing that the BMoL are dicks! Um. Yep.

Let's check out the promo...

Oh man... Mary not picking up. Dean being all vulnerable with his mum..."Mum, we're heading out on a case with those witch twins. I know the Brits have got you running non-stop. Can you call me back, there's just some stuff going down and it got me spun out...."

I found that promo super hard to watch. It reminded me of that scene so long ago when Dean rang his dad to ask for help - in the episode Home. It's not like Dean opens up easily, though certainly he opens up more easily these days, and just the thought of him calling his mum to talk and having her not pickup, well that's just too much. And that he asks her to call him back...because he's spun out and he needs to talk to her.... OH MY GOD MY HEART.

Also, Sam is finally sleeping. Yay!

It really does feel like these two are alone in this thing...which I don't hate...but I do hate how it hurts them.

SNEAK PEEK!

SOOOOOO MUCHHHHHH GOOOOOOODNESSSSSS. For a start, I always love any scene of the boys in the bunker (as you may have guessed! 😂). I particularly love the boys hashing over events and sharing feels. I love how they're both sort of munching on their nails as they try to work out what the hell happened the night before with Cas and Kelly and all the Nephilim action. The night before also gives me squee because I always love when we pick up right where we left off. It'd be so cool if we saw them waking up in the playground - not that i expect that to happen, but that would be so damn cool!

I love to pieces that Dean says in the past he's always understood when Cas has done something whack but for the right reasons. There's been so much forgiveness between these three, all of them have been misguided in the past, but it's always for the right reasons in the moment, and it's lovely that it's being recognised that those transgressions are understood and forgiven. The show has matured so nicely over the last couple of seasons in areas like this one. It feels like we've finally stepped out of the blame game cycle. Recognition that Cas' heart is always in the right place and Dean gets it is nice growth all around.

The boys think the Nephilim has sock-puppeted Cas...which it certainly did look like, what with all the flashy eye stuff, and it certainly makes it easier to comprehend and accept Cas zapping them and leaving them defenceless at heaven's door. When Dean says that Cas has faith in Lucifer Jr., it really is jarring! This also makes it easier to stomach Cas making another world threatening error of judgement. If baby Luci is pulling the strings from inside Kelly's tum, Cas would have no control over the path he's now heading down.

Then....

I had loads of chats with people in the emotional aftermath of last week's episode, as to the possibility of The Colt making a return. We were all so traumatised! We all hoped the boys would pick up the pieces and take them back to the bunker - like they did Michael's lance, or like Dean did with the magical knuckle dusters - and maybe they could put The Colt back together again. Though I still think having a magical gun that can kill all but 5 things in creation may make life easier than the Show would like for our boys...

Will the Winchesters be able to return the Colt to its magical glory? Bobby fixed the Colt, and the boys now know how to make the magic bullets. Both brothers are super gun savvy - either one of them could easily rebuild any gun...though this one definitely looks like a little welding is in order! Maybe if they're popping to the hardware store to get a welder and what ever else they might need to get this beauty back in one piece...THEY CAN GET SOME NEW LOCKS FOR THE DOOR! Just sayin...

Oh and...just a friendly reminder that the BMoL have the bunker bugged...so this conversation is being recorded and listened to. CAN THEY PLEASE FIND THAT BUG! I hate hate hate that those asshats are hearing our boys emote!

Now...what is Mr Dabb teasing us with this week!

- Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Well...how very Supernatural. Remember Dean in No Rest For The Wicked saying that Sam was his weak spot, and at the end of The End, Dean says that the brothers are each other's Achilles heel - but, they keep each other human, they're stronger together. For the Winchesters, they get strength from their family, even though they know that their family is also the thing that makes them the weakest, because they will do anything to protect family, and the bad guys....they know it.

It's interesting that this episode is about siblings looking for their mum. It's interesting the amount of mum stuff that has gone on this season! Dean has been worried that his mum adds another chink in his armour, another person to worry about and look out for.

I'm expecting a fair amount of parallels and pointed mum moments for the brothers to look to as they help the twins search for their mum and maybe see that relationship. Jensen has spoken about how

On the flip of this is Mary, who though distance from her boys, has always said that they come first for her (even if it doesn't always look like it). It would be very easy for the BMoL to use Mary's sons against her - if they threaten her boys, what would Mary be prepared to do to save them?

So this quote can be looked at from both sides of the Winchester family, as well as the witch twins perspective.

Right! I'm off to the All Hell Breaks Loose convention in Melbourne! The boys will be there, and Rich will be there too, so it'll be fun to hear him talk about this ep!

Enjoy!

See you soon.
