dem bow legs! |
Yep. We have just 2 episodes left in season 11....
(Me basically. For the next week!)
Only 2 episodes...count 'em...
I repeat.
We have to sort out The Darkness issue and stop her destroying the world, and also prevent her from having Dean inside her forever.................................................................................................................
............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
So sorry....totally drifted away then with the Dean inside her forever thing............................................
...............................................................................................................................................................
Whoa. I really have to stop saying that.
Anyhoo...moving on...we gotta get Lucifer outta Cas...STAT! I mean, get out of him! As much as I've enjoyed Misha's Lucifer snark and all that jazz, it's time he got out from inside our angel! (Okay, there are a lot of people getting in and out of people in this show....but not quite how I... OKAY JUST STOP RIGHT THERE YOUNG LADY, I KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING WITH THIS!)
Anyhoo part 2...breaking it down, because obviously I can not be trusted...
1. we gotta stop Amara
2. we gotta keep Dean from Amara's clutches (goooood luck fandamily!)
3. we gotta get Cas back
4. we gotta get Lucifer back in the cage
5. we gotta get God not so present! He can not be hanging out in the bunker taking long showers and driving Dean crazy with crappy folk songs!
6. WE GOTTA KEEP SAM AND DEAN TOGETHER BECAUSE THE AWESOMENESS OF THE LONGEST BROMENT IN HISTORY CALLED SEASON 11 NEEDS TO BE PROTECTED AND I CAN'T STAND THE THOUGHT OF THEM BEING APART AND OH MY GOD IF WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PUNCH SOMEONE IN THE FACE PROBABLY ME BECAUSE I WAS DUMB ENOUGH TO THINK THESE EPIC SAM AND DEAN FEELS WERE GOING TO LAST FOREVER IN HAPPINESS LIKE WE'RE GOING TO BE SKIPPING THROUGH MEADOWS OR SOMETHING WITH RAINBOWS AND BUTTERFLIES AND I'VE BEEN WATCHING THIS SHOW FOR ELEVEN YEARS WHAT THE HELL WAS I EVEN THINKING TO THINK THEIR HAPPINESS WOULD LAST AND I REALLY ONLY HAVE MYSELF TO BLAME.
*takes deep breath and tries to stay calm*
(listens to the squirrel)
THEN
God showed up...literally...and now lives in the bunker (which is obviously heaven...OBVIOUSLY)
Kevin went to heaven (the actual heaven)
A new prophet was born - he is not a TMNT.
Amara knows Dean's cheating on her with Chuck... (I'm sure there's a fic out there...)
Sam retrieved Lucifer from his auntie's evil clutches.
Metatron took one for team free will.
NOW
I DON'T KNOW! WHY ARE YOU ASKING ME?
Oh. Preview. Right. Sorry.
The Almighty Chuck rallies the troops to fight the Darkness and SHIT IS ABOUT TO GET REAL! AGAIN.
“We Happy Few”
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN – Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) face their biggest challenge yet. Rowena (Ruth Connell) makes her move. John Badham directed the episode written by Robert Berens (#1122).
Could these synopses be any more vague...well yes actually, wait until you see next week's!
This is Bob Beren's fourth episode of the season, his last being Red Meat (along with Andrew Dabb), so he's not adverse to hurting us! (BTW Dabb wrote the finale).
This will be John Badham's third episode of the season, having last directed the Beren's penned The Vessel. As an aside, how damn lucky are we to have John Badham as a regular director on Supernatural!
We Happy Few, is a reference to Henry V's speech before the Battle of Agincourt, to rouse his troops to victory - here as envisioned by Shakespeare in his play Henry V.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
The English won at Agincourt....so maybe....
Here is the promo!
Just as an aside...I totally dislike this promo. Anyway... So Chuck is trying to round up heaven and hell to take down his sister. This plays into that whole an angel and demon walked into a bar scene we had earlier in the season. Bet it all ends up boiling down to two tall boys who perpetually save the world.
And here's the sneak peek...
Oh how awkward. Awkward family moment. Awkward Sam and Dean trying to advise God and Lucifer. Awkward Dean watches Doctor Phil. Awkward that God and Lucifer are in the SECRET BUNKER. Just so awkward!
You know, I watched this sneak peek - which will be a teeny bit of the episode I'm sure - and I thought... THIS SHOW IS SO WEIRD! I was explaining to a friend at work yesterday, or at least attempting to explain, how God is actually a character in my show who watches porn, is bisexual, and doesn't wear pants. WHATEVEN IS SUPERNATURAL!!?
This promo pic gives me worries....look at Sammy's face....look at Dean's face....WHAT IS HE TELLING HIS BABY BRO! Oh, I don't know....something about SACRIFICE?
In the latest Women of Letters podcast, Jules and I were talking about themes that might play into the finale, one of which was how the brothers are very much working together this season, everything is a team...so whatever happens, maybe they'll do it together. But another one of the themes of the season, which has been brought up a couple of times, and was first raised by Sam in episode 1 - along with the saving people stuff - was respecting each other's decisions. It came up again when talking about Cas and Lucifer. That has been part of the brothers' learnings, that not respecting the choices of the other brother causes rifts. So...what if Dean decides he's the only one that can take Amara down, whether as one of the chosen or whether in sacrifice and becoming boundless etc., and as that's Dean's decision...Sam has to respect it and respect Dean's choice for his own life...like Sammy in Swan Song and the hell dive...because that's been the position he's always taken with stuff like that.
Yeah I don't like this. I need to shut up. And Sammy, if it does come to this...feel free to go against your brother's wishes, pretty sure he'll forgive you...and I'll hug you!
(Me..Now...Basically)
Okay....so if any other sneak peeks come out of the wood work, I shall be back to include them.
I have zip clue where the season is heading and where we will land (with an enormous, painful thud most likely). Where all our characters are going to land. How the show will or won't wrap up some of these character threads. I like the not knowings...I'm super scarcited! Remind me that there was excitement mixed in with my scaredness after the finale and while I'm rocking back and forth in the corner mumbling expletives for 5 freakin' months!

Thanks for the laughs. My husband thinks I've lost my mind trying to explain this show. I've finally given up. At least I had a good chuckle before the tears.
