Spoilers Sweeties! Official description Supernatural 9.16 "Blade Runners"

So good news! Seems that the originally scheduled hiatus is not happening, or at least not happening yet.

I believe the CW are re-running "The Purge" on March 11 and then there is a new episode on March 18. What happens after than, I'm not entirely sure! At some point there will be another short break - 2 weeks by my math - to get to May 20, which is when the season 9 finale is scheduled.

So yay! We aren't having the season all disjointed!

Anyway, here's the synopsis for 9.16 "Blade Runners" which is directed by director of photography extraordinaire, Serge Ladouceur.

SUPERNATURAL
“Blade Runners”  - March 18

CROWLEY SINKS DEEPER INTO HIS ADDICTION; NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI APPEARS IN A CAMEO ROLE — Dean (Jensen Ackles) is frustrated when he can’t reach Crowley (Mark Sheppard), who has promised to find The First Blade. When Crowley finally calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean, he tells them he fell off the wagon and has been injecting human blood and needs their help. To make matters worse, he had a demon (guest star Rebecca Marshall) helping him find blood, but she sold him out and told Abaddon that he and the Winchesters were searching for The First Blade. The brothers need to find the blade before Abaddon does, so they enlist the help of a former member of the Men of Letters (guest star Kavan Smith). Meanwhile, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi appears in a cameo role. Serge Ladouceur directed the episode written by Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming (#915).

Sounds like a good one! I'll still be in Vegas after Vegas con, so will be watching it Stateside!

Supernatural Ratings News - "Captives" up from last episode!

So the fabulouso ratings continue for season 9 with "Captives" up a 10th over the last new episode, being "The Purge" (which seems so long ago I had to have a think about what was the last new ep!)

Via TVBythenumbers

On The CW, The Originals returned to a 0.8, down a tenth from the 0.9 its last new episode earned. Supernatural earned a 1.1, up a tenth from its last original's 1.0 adults 18-49 rating.

Note: The CW was preempted in Chicago for Hawks-Bulls Basketball, so expect more adjustments than usual in the finals.

So we were preempted for a big basketball game in Chicago but were still up! Awesome work Supernatual. Awesome work fandom!

Promo for Supernatural 9.15 "#THINMAN"

Here's the promo for next week's episode!

This is the episode with the Ghostfacers!

I'm looking forward to this (like I don't always look forward to Supernatural!). I love the "Ghostfacers" episode from season 3 - though I think a big part of why I love it is because Dean swears all the way through it and I want to see that episode uncensored so bad though maybe that might not be healthy because Dean swearing a blue streak is going to be super hot and I'm not sure I could cope with that level of hot but hey I'm willing to try *takes deep breath*.

Sorry...where was I? Oh yes, Dean swearing would be hot. What? No. Here's the promo for next week's episode #THINMAN.

Hey, how are we going to hashtag that one on twitter? ##THINMAN? IDK...

(p.s. I say "WINCHESTERS, YAY" all the time! Just sayin' there Harry)

Spoilers Sweeties! Promotional photos - Supernatural 9.15 "#Thinman"

Yes! More stuff! Now we have promo pics from 9.15 #Thinman. This is the episode that heralds the return of the Ghostfacers!

What do they tell us? Well not much!

I want to be Ed here so bad. I want to eavesdrop on the brothers!
Are they having a deep and meaningful about the case or about each other? Dum-dum-daaaaaah!

Not happy? Listening?

AJ has totally changed his entire being! When he decided to get rid of the lab geek look he wasn't kidding! No wonder he was cast in Justified. Anyhoo, does it look like Ed and Harry might be fighting? They don't look happy.

Not happy!

Speaking of which...

Working with his back to his brother?

Gazing sadly at his brother's back?

(I'm so in love with the white shirts...)

But I'm even more in love with the red shirt! (And my gosh Dean's pretty).

I have to say all of these photos have got me totally intrigued. Also, LEGS.
Legs and red shirt...what are they trying to do to me!

Okay, so they are very enjoyable photos which basically tell us nothing. But I like seeing the boys working together, because if they're working together, they're not walking away and that's good.

I'm just happy for more pics!

The Light On Spoilers, Heavy on Squee Preview of Supernatural 9.14 "Captives"

Thank goodness! Seriously, way to leave us hanging and crying and hurting and crying and hanging, show! Stupid hellatus'. And listen, don't get too comfortable because even though the show is back, it's only back for 2 weeks and then we have a whole damn month hellatus! Crap! I mean, CRAP!

But... we do have two new episodes to look forward and the first one is 9.14 "Captives". Weee!

So let's look at the synopsis:

Sam and Dean go shopping for new coats.

Okay...they don't really... but I do like these coats! Dean looks particularly like a male modeling son of a bitch here! I just love his collar. Dean, always with the collar.

Here's the real synopsis:

THE BUNKER IS HAUNTED — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are stunned to discover the Men of Letters’ bunker is haunted. Their investigation leads them to a storage facility where the demons have been keeping a prize possession. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) is captured by Bartholomew (guest star Adam Harrington). Jerry Wanek directed the episode written by Robert Berens.

The last episode written by Robert Berens was "Heaven Can't Wait". Jerry Wanek is of course, the fabulous Production Designer for Supernatural. This is Jerry's second shot at directing an episode, having directed season 7's "Slice Girls" (Mmmmm Dean sex....)

The bunker is haunted? Seriously, the guys need to get their warding updated or something because there's angels and demons coming and going and evil witches and now ghosts! Geesh.

Ok...promo!

Snooki's a crossroads demon? Nice! After the ouchiness of the end of the last episode, this actually looks like fun. It's going to be so very interesting to watch the brothers interacting after the emotional upheavel at the end of "The Purge".

Here's an extended promo - but it has more footage than from just this episode, because we know the Ghostfacers are in the next episode.

Crowley cracks me up. I do so love him. I wonder what's going to happen between Cas and Bart? Do you think they'll join forces? Maybe Bart's no the bad guy afterall.

For some reason, the kitchen scene fills me with glee! I can't wait to see how the boys react to a haunting in their very own home!

How about the sneak peak clip...

It's such a good one liner... nice one Sam. They've always been excellent at snarky comebacks. Some things never change. If they're out camping... This episode looks so interesting!

It seems like we're going to get 2 separate stories. The brothers and their adventure and Cas and Bartholomew and his angels. I'm guessing that's the way it's going to roll until everything starts to intersect.

But really, no offense rest of the characters, but right now I'm interested in the brother's relationship and where it goes next. How they function together, do they continue to talk? I can't wait to find all of this out.

So who do you think is haunting the bunker? Anyone we know or just a random spirit?

Who do you think the demon's have locked up as a prize possession?

Where do you think Sam and Dean got their spiffy new coats and do you think they went shopping together or just had a weird in sync moment and both went out for weapons or something and came back with new clothes... ;)  I want to see them shopping... I really do.

Let me know you thoughts. I can't wait. I'm so excited for the show to be back. To hell with pain, I just want to see the brothers and I just want to see what happens next!

-sweetondean

***I would usually include the CHCH promo, but it's so damn spoilery I can't believe it and I won't include it for that reason. If you still want to see it Clickety Click! But you've been warned!

Please DON'T discuss the spoiler in the comments. It's way too spoilery for a Light On Spoilers preview!

Thanks a bunch and enjoy the ep... I CAN'T FREAKIN' WAIT!

"Supernatural" Review - Will Sam and Dean Finally Purge Their Inner Demons?

A lot of people have been asking me what my take was on the conversation at the end of “The Purge”. There’s a reason I didn’t write up this episode and it wasn’t because I didn’t like it, or was angry or any of those things. It was because a while ago I stepped away from a place where the commentary on the show was getting me down and starting to affect my enjoyment of it. For a while, I considered giving up writing about the show altogether, because Supernatural is too important to me and I love it too much to have that experienced marred by my inability to separate myself from other’s opinions. That inability to not be affected by other peoples’ anger or despondency or disillusionment is all on me. It’s no one’s fault but my own. But I know I’m not alone in not being able to do this.

So I decided “The Purge” could wait until things calmed down.

Then my elderly dog – he’s 15 – got diagnosed with diabetes (actually on the day “The Purge” went to air!) and dealing with that and what that means and trying to figure out what’s right and what’s wrong has taken up all of my time and emotional energy.

But Harry is doing well and we’re taking it one day at a time as we see how much further our journey together will go. So I guess it’s finally time for me to weigh in on the whole “The Purge” shebang. To be honest, stepping away and allowing myself time to absorb and react without the first bloom of over emotive emotions was probably the best thing I could have done.

I’m an eternal optimist and that hasn’t changed. So let’s get that out there right now. I believe in this show. I believe in the people producing it. I do not believe for one moment they are wilfully or consciously trying to destroy any characters – because, really? I’m not even going to bother with that. I believe in and always will believe in Sam and Dean.

I’m also a realist. I don’t think two men in their 30’s who have been through the kinds of trauma these men have been through would react the same way to each other as two men in their 20’s who hadn’t been to Hell and back quite literally. They just wouldn’t and I’m glad of that. These characters have grown into profoundly deep and thoughtful human beings and I love every aspect of both of them.

I’m also realistic enough to know and appreciate that families fight, sometimes bitterly and violently but that doesn’t mean they don’t love each other and that doesn’t mean they don’t find a way to forgive and move past the anger and end up having a better more honest relationship because of the honesty that at the time seemed hurtful and harsh. Yes, I am speaking from experience.

So do I believe this is the end of the magnificence that is Sam and Dean. No I do not. Do I believe that they can find a way back to each other that has truth and realism and value? Yes, I do.

Had this situation played out any other way. Had Sam essentially forgiven Dean or buried his anger and hurt. Had they simply got on with the family business without any of this being dealt with I would have felt gypped and I know the fandom would have feel gypped too. Sam deserves to be allowed his anger, even if we don’t like it.

I’m reminded of John Winchester when Dean first stood up to him: “…I'm not too crazy about this new tone of yours, but you’re right.” That’s kind of how I feel about what’s happening now with Sam.

Of course his words hurt. They hurt like crazy. I was as gobsmacked as everyone else. But he was angry and was being honest in saying that for him, how their relationship currently is, it’s not working and then there’s Dean saying, well I’d do it again. Red rag to a bull – which is probably why Dean said it. Hurt and angry words usually get hurt and angry words in return…tragically, that’s just people.

But yeah, initially there was a part of me that was pissed. 1. Because Dean’s face and heart was so broken and 2. Because Sam’s words seemed to lack the understanding needed to allow his brother to hear them. Sam said I just want to be respected and have my choices for my own life respected and I would always respect what you want, even if it’s not what I want. Dean heard Sam doesn’t love me enough. I’m not enough.

But hasn’t that been the conversation these two have been battling internally now for 8.5 seasons? More to the point, aren’t these the issues we’ve been dealing with since season 1?

Sam originally left the family business to pursue a dream because his choice for his own life was not being respected.

The Yellow Eyed Demon nailed Dean when he said, “You know, you fight and you fight for this family, but the truth is they don’t need you. Not like you need them.” Right there, that sums up Dean’s greatest fear… still does.

When I stepped back from the emotional upheaval of what transpired after “Road Trip”, I started to see a picture forming – maybe just in my eyes, but…

How I’m seeing all this is that Sam and Dean’s core insecurity/issues/hopes/dreams/needs of their brother have been front and centre from the beginning of season 8. Playing out through Dean’s feelings around Sam choosing a different path when Dean vanished without a trace and now Sam’s feelings around Dean making a choice for Sam that he knew Sam wouldn’t want.

So what if what we’re seeing here is the show finally bringing out these things that have haunted their relationship with each other and their feelings about themselves and letting them actually talk about and deal with them? I mean that would be something right?

The conversations started in season 8 with Dean’s speech about just being a grunt and death is all that awaits him and with Sam’s speech about how he wants to live and he sees a different life, but so should Dean and he’ll take Dean with him to the light he sees at the end of the tunnel.

It was continued in “Sacrifice” with Sam confessing that he’s always felt like he’s let Dean down and that Dean doesn’t trust him and Dean saying there’s nothing past or present that he would put in front Sam.

That conversation was just the very beginning of what needs to be said between these brothers. It was a wonderful moment, a shining light in the series, but it was just a beginning and it was tragically cut short.

And now we find ourselves here…in season 9 with everything coming to a head. It may feel like a backward step, but maybe it’s the only way to revisit and further the conversation that was started in that church.

How can these two move forward in a place of love and trust if they continue to sweep their feelings of doubt, hurt, anger and bitterness under the rug? They can’t and they haven’t since Kripke broke their trust in season 4.

So, I’m not going to sweat this. I’m going to look at this as maybe, just maybe the beginning of them actually dealing with their problems once and for all.

Because I don’t want Dean to live in a state of fear and desperation that at any minute his brother is going to leave him and he’s going to be alone.

Because I don’t want Sam to not trust his brother’s love because he feels like his brother doesn’t believe in or respect him or his wishes.

I want them to know and feel the love that we know is there, always.

The angry words, yeah they hurt and yeah, maybe I’m not crazy about this new tone, but I understand it and I’m hoping that this is the beginning of a better place for Sam and Dean Winchester.

Because, once again, they’re fighting for each other and fighting to stay together.

Sam could have easily not have got in that car or he could have easily just got in and never been honest with Dean about how he is feeling and what he wants. But he didn’t. This is Sam fighting for his relationship with Dean.

Dean could have stayed in the car and let his brother walk away instead of getting out of the car and laying his need and heart out in the open. He could have walked out of the Men of Letters bunker and never looked back after Sam’s words cut him to the quick, but we know he didn’t. This is Dean fighting for his relationship with Sam.

I want what everyone wants. I want the brothers to be all twisted up in each other’s lives but I also want them to be happy about it. I want them to want to be together because they love each other as profoundly as we love them. I want them to be happy driving down crazy street with their brother by their side. I want them to enjoy being brothers again. Enjoy being together. They’ve been ploughing through so much blood and crap since season 4, they haven’t had time to really look at each other. I’m hoping, right now, this is their time.

And when we get there, the result will have so much more value, because it would have be fought for. The best things come to those who never give up…just like Sam and Dean.

You can call me an optimist you can call me an idiot…I don’t really care either way. I believe in Sam and Dean. I believe in their love and I believe in Supernatural. This show is yet to let me down and I know it won’t this time.

So I’m sticking with the Winchester brothers, because if they can fight to stay together, I can fight for them too.

How do I feel about that last scene in “The Purge”? I feel like it could be the first steps towards purging the brothers’ inner demons and the beginning of better times for the Winchesters – well, in their relationship at least - and I can’t wait to see where we go next.

Supernatural might be painful sometimes, but it’s always compelling and thought provoking.

Spoilers Sweeties! Promotional photos - Supernatural 9.14 "Captives"

Soooo here we go!

Promo pics from the next episode! After that rather dour ending to "The Purge", what have Sam and Dean been up to?

Well...it looks like they went shopping for new coats! Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to mend a broken heart. Huh? HUH?

That coat + that scruff = Amy EXPLODES. Also, Dean and his always turning up the collar. Just. Bless.

Ru-Roh! (Also, phwoar)

Cue superhero music! Super Sam to the rescue! Yay!

Meanwhile, over at the angel wars....

I'm just going to say it...I do love Cas' new trench. The deeper colour...the shorter, less traditional styling...but I seriously miss the tie. He looks like he got dressed in a hurry! You know what would be cool...if the tie was casually hanging out of his pocket.

Look at the lovely lighting in this shot.

And this shot. I've got to say it for the angels, they love a bit of minimalist styling!

I'm sure the actor who plays Bartholomew (Adam Harrington) is a super lovely dude, but his face creeps me out...which I guess is the point.

Hellooooooo Castiel! Pretty boy angel.

Where's that angel blade going. Also, Cas needed a rumple free coat...he's still got a touch of the Columbos about him!

Yes I know you've seen this one but I felt it was worth repeating...for scruff and coat reasons.

Okay...I'll stop now.

Okay. Now.

Spoilers Sweeties! Official Descriptions of Supernatural 9.15 "Thinman"

To tied us over on this mini helllllllllatus, here is the synopsis for Episode 9.15 "Thinman" which will screen on March 4.

Remember these guys? Yes, THE GHOST, GHOSTFACERS...ARE BACK!

THE GHOSTFACERS RETURN — A teenage girl (guest star Ali Webb) is killed and the final selfie she took before the attack shows a ghostly figure in the background. Looking for something to keep them busy, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) head to Washington to find the ghost. While the two interview the girl’s mother, Betty (guest star Maria Marlow), they are surprised when she starts talking about cold spots and fritzing. When they ask her about bringing up paranormal signs, Betty replies that the “supernaturalists” who called earlier brought it up. Enter Harry (guest star Travis Wester) and Ed (guest star A.J. Buckley), the famous supernaturalists. Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode written by Jenny Klein (916).

Looking for something to keep them busy? Okay... (sounds vaguely distressing for some reason).

Jeannot Szwarc hasn't directed an episode since season 7's "Adventures in Babysitting". Jenny Klein's last episode was 9.08 "Rock and a Hard Place".

We last saw The Ghostfacers in the wonderful season 4 episode, "It's a Terrible Life" where they were giving instructional videos and dissing on the Winchesters!

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing Harry and Ed again?

Spoliers Sweeties! Official Description Supernatural 9.14 - "Captives"

Okie dokie...we have to wait 2 weeks...2 WEEKS...but at least we have a synopsis to hold us over!

Here's the official description of episode 9.14 "Captives"

THE BUNKER IS HAUNTED — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are stunned to discover the Men of Letters’ bunker is haunted. Their investigation leads them to a storage facility where the demons have been keeping a prize possession. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) is captured by Bartholomew (guest star Adam Harrington). Jerry Wanek directed the episode written by Robert Berens.

The last episode written by Robert Berens was "Heaven Can't Wait", which was a good one! Jerry Wanek is of course, the fabulously fabulous Production Designer for Supernatural. This is Jerry's second shot at directing an episode, having directed season 7's "Slice Girls" (Dean sexxxxx... What? Nothing.)

So who do you think is haunting the bunker and who is the prize possession being held captive by the demons?

Maybe this will help...

And possibly this cap?

Okay! What do you think?

Geeesh! Is it February 25 (or for me, 26) yet?

Spoilers Sweeties! Promo for Supernatural 9.14 - Captives

To be honest, I'm not sure if this contains show footage from only 9.14 or if there are more episodes here.

We know they're shooting 9.17 now. They shot 9.16 and 9.15 in reverse order, so who knows how far along post production they are with those two episodes.

So basically this could be 9.14 or it could be an amalgamation of a couple of episodes.

Whatever! It's not on until February 25, which after the end of "The Purge" seems like so far away!

But it looks like the boys are still hunting together, which at this stage is a bloody miracle!

Here's the promo... Enjoy because it's got to last you a couple of weeks!

The Light On Spoilers, Heavy on Squee Preview of Supernatural 9.13 "The Purge"

Oh boy, am I looking forward to this! Yes, for objectification reasons, but also because I'm itching to see how the brothers are with each other off the back of their conversation at the end of "Sharp Teeth". I mean, I'm shallow but I'm not that shallow. Okay, I am.

"The Purge" Looks like a good ol' Monster of the Week episode, with the boys in awesome outfits and something creepy going on that literally sucks the fat out of you! Where do I sign up?

Let's look at the synopsis:

SAM AND DEAN GO UNDERCOVER AT A SPA --- Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate recent murders where the victims were hundreds of pounds lighter after their deaths. Suspecting witches, the two go undercover at a fancy day spa that all of the victims had attended for weight loss. While Sam is hired as a fitness instructor, Dean takes kitchen duty. After Dean swipes some tainted food and passes out, the guys realise someone is drugging the guests and literally sucking all of the fat out of them until they die. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Eric Charmelo & Nicole Snyder.

Yay Phil! We don't see him that much anymore and Phil likes to keep shooting so that we get gagreel stuff! And Eric and Nicole wrote Dog Dean Afternoon this season, which I loved!

Let's look at the promo...

Nice shorts. Wonder if Sam has a whistle. Though with those arms, I don't think he needs one to make him those lady's God!

The guys in their FBI suits, going undercover, this is the easy part of their relationship. The part they don't have to stress about. But I do wonder if "the" conversation will be touched on at all. I hope it is.

How about the sneak peek.

I love this sneak peek with a fiery passion. The sugar donut all over Dean's face. Sam trying to tell him to wipe his face. The lady cop and her "ya, you know, I gotta be honest fellas". Freakin love it. It's so Fargoesque.

And just bless Dean and his abandon for food!

I'm really looking forward to this episode. We need a bit of light after the ending of "Sharp Teeth" and all the uneasy feelings that raised in the fandom.

Maybe this is what the boys need too? Not that I'm even suggesting that this is all they need, because they need to talk and figure out how they see each other and how they can get to a place where they're on the same page, but being on a hunt and falling into the ease of that side of their relationship, well I don't think it can hurt and it sure can't hurt us!

When the CHCH promo drops tomorrow I shall add it in.

So are you looking forward to this episode? Do you think we'll be dealing with any of the stuff from the end of last week?

Let me know your thoughts! And enjoy the episode...like there's any chance you won't from the look of the promo pics!

EDIT! Here's the CHCH promo!

Oh my goodness! It does look like the continue "the" conversation! Good. It would be weird if they didn't.

Enjoy, everyone!

Supernatural News: The Week That Was - February 2 Edition.

Sorry! I'm a bit tardy with this week's Supernatural News wrap up! I've had a crazy week with stupid life stuff. (Stupid life getting in the way of what's important...SUPERNATURAL!).

I'll kick off this past week's news with more fantastic ratings!

"Sharp Teeth" was another ratings bonanza! Hitting a 1.2 with 2.79million viewers! A 1.2!

It was the most watched episode since October 2010 and the highest teen's ratings since February 2009!

Um. This is season 9 guys, we're seriously not supposed to be doing this!

This is from TV By The Numbers

"Last night's Supernatural was the series' most watched (2.79M) episode since 10/15/2010. It matched its season highs in A18-34 (1.1/3), A18-49 (1.2/3), and W18-34 (1.4/4), and had its best W18-49 since 5/13/10 (1.4/3).

It was Supernatural's best rating among teens (1.6/6) since 2/5/09 and Matched its second best female teen rating ever on The CW (2.1/7)"

"Over on the CW, which did not air the State of the Union...

At 9 p.m., as the only entertainment programming against the address, Supernatural (1.2 adults) lifted from last week's showing to match a season high and hit its biggest viewership (2.8 million) since 2010. The network posted a nightly average of a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers."

Nice work, Little Show That Could!

On the Nielsen Twitter Rankings, Supernatural came in the 4th most tweeted about show of the week! (Remember to #tag people!)

These twitter rankings don't go towards ratings numbers, but they are an excellent tool for the network and advertisers for better understanding and targeting specific audience groups via online content, promoted tweets etc. and can give advertisers insight into possible program audiences which can help with content placement. I'm a true believer in Social Media interaction being an important part of the television viewing research landscape.

And just to wrap up "Sharp Teeth" here are a couple of behind the scenes photos from the episode via guest stars.

Here's something to be proud of! The Supernatural episode "LARP and the Real Girl" has been nominated for a GLAAD Media award. The GLAAD Media Awards recognise and honour media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.

This is the 3rd GLAAD nomination for Supernatural. Previous episodes nominated were Ghostfacers in 2009, which featured gay Ghostfacers intern Corbett and The Real Ghostbusters in 2010 which featured gay LARPing couple, Demian and Barnes.

We should all be proud of our show.

There was also a whole lot of new information on the Supernatural spinoff! We now have a title: "Supernatural: Tribes". We know that the pilot is being produced as part of Supernatural season 9. Episode 9.20 - written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Bob Singer - will be what is called a "backdoor" pilot and will introduce characters that will then spinoff into the new show.

"Supernatural: Tribes will be set in Chicago and centre around 5 warring and powerful monster families and a Hunter named, Ennis Roth. The Ennis Roth character will come in contact with Sam and Dean in Supernatural episode 9.20 and be introduced to the hunting life.

There's more information in my post here.

This week we also got the casting news via TV|Line:

ENNIS ROTH | The de-facto star of the potential series, Ennis is “likeable, strong-willed, resolute, with a strong sense of justice.” He’s the son of a cop who grew up in poverty. He’s en route to the police academy himself when someone he is close to is murdered — presumably by some kind of monster. He meets up with Sam and Dean and “learns the staggering truth” that Chicago is run by five families of monsters (including, but perhaps not limited to, werewolves and shape shifters). And with that, a new monster-hunter is born. Fun fact: Producers are looking to fill this role with an African-American actor in his early 20s.
DAVID HAYDEN | A shape-shifter from one of Chicago’s ruling monster families. He’s been living as a human for some time, but a tragedy propels him back into the life. David is in his early 20s.
MARGO HAYDEN | David’s “professional, strong-willed, determined, ambitious” shape-shifter sister. She’s an “ex-punk rocker gone corporate” who sets out to be the new head of the family in the wake of a tragedy. Margo is in her early 20s.
VIOLET DURANT | A werewolf and part of the wealthy, powerful Durant family. In a twist right out of West Side Story, the early-twentysomething is hot for family rival David (see above), but their love is forbidden.
JULIAN DURANT | Violet’s “savagely handsome, strong, arrogant” twentysomething brother and Ennis’ arch nemesis.
FREDDIE COSTA | A world-weary copy in his 30s, Freddie has a soft spot in his heart for Ennis (he knew his dad back in the day). Fun fact: Freddie’s got a secret.

This pilot has been ordered, so is now officially on the slate for the CW's 2014 pilot schedule.

What are your thoughts? Definitely an ensemble show!

Jenny Klein - no not the one with the beating hearts cupcakes but her namesake, the Supernatural writer - headed to Vancouver this week to watch her episode being filmed. This is the episode with the Ghostfacers' return!

Remember these guys!

Jenny got a tour of the MoL bunker and posted some cool photos on her twitter! Thanks for sharing these great snaps, Jenny!

Last week, some fans managed to catch some filming and had a great experience!

You can read all about it here at gabrielsfeatherybutt.tumblr but long story short - the guys went over and met the fans and were nice enough to take a photo with them! But read the story too, because it's super cute.

And because I thought it might be nice to end on a sweet tweet from Jared...

Here's a lovely photo of his sons, Thomas and Shepherd, that he shared with us. Now don't tell me this doesn't give you all sorts of Sam and Dean feels! As Jules said to me the other day, Gen better stay out of the nursery in six months time!

And that my friends, is all the Supernatural news fit to print!

Have a wonderful Winchestery week everyone!
